What to Expect

Your Ultrasound Journey

Follow the four simple steps of your appointment, designed to keep you informed and comfortable from arrival through to results.

01

Preparation

Some scans require fasting or a comfortably full bladder. Our team confirms all preparation details during booking so you arrive calm and ready.

02

The Scan

Warm gel is applied and a small probe glides over the skin. The process is non-invasive and generally painless, with your sonographer guiding each step.

03

Afterwards

Once the images are captured you can wipe away the gel and return to regular activities—most patients head straight back to work or home.

04

Results

A radiologist reviews your scan promptly and provides a detailed report to your referring doctor, ensuring next steps can happen without delay.

Scan Day Confidence

Scans

Every ultrasound appointment begins with a short welcome from your sonographer. They will confirm your referral, talk you through the area to be scanned, and explain any positioning before the warm gel is applied.

Some scans require fasting, a full bladder, or adjustments to medication timing. We will outline any preparation instructions at booking, and our team is always available if you are unsure.

Good to remember

  • Wear comfortable clothing with easy access to the area being scanned.
  • Arrive 10 minutes early to complete forms and relax.
  • Most examinations take 20–30 minutes and are non-invasive.
